According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has changed its initial plans for the WrestleMania 39 card. Originally, The Usos were slated to face Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn in the main event of night one, but these plans have been scrapped due to “political” reasons.

The Bloodline storyline featuring Roman Reigns and his real-life cousins, The Usos, has recently been one of the most captivating in WWE. With Jey Uso reuniting with Jimmy Uso, there is speculation that the two could continue their feud with Sami Zayn, who was once an Honorary Uce. It remains to be seen whether The Usos will still have a match on night one of WrestleMania 39, but the focus will likely stay on the Bloodline’s momentum leading up to the event.

As for the main event of night two, it has been confirmed that Roman Reigns will face Cody Rhodes. The decision to have this match close out the show is not surprising, given the hype surrounding the Bloodline storyline. Nevertheless, plans are subject to alteration, and it will be intriguing to observe how WWE proceeds with enhancing the remaining matches on the card in the run-up to the event.

“When we had asked about Usos vs. Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn headlining night one, since at the time Zayn was the company’s hottest babyface character, we were told that there were political reasons in play to where Flair vs. Ripley would most likely get that spot.

“It is not clear that the Usos match will be on night one, but when the original idea was to create a second world title, with Rollins, Drew McIntyre or Rhodes (Rhodes would be in this if The Rock was facing Reigns) as the three people considered for it, that was to be the night one main event, but it became the women’s match when that idea fell by the wayside. At that point in time, the Usos title defense was scheduled for night one.”
