On Wednesday night, AEW Dynamite drew an average of 852,000 viewers on TBS, which marks a 0.7 percent decrease from last week. This is the third-lowest audience total that Dynamite has had in 2023 so far. The show also finished 11th on the cable charts in the 18-49 demo, with a 0.27 rating, down 6.9 percent from last week, and tied for the second-lowest rating of 2023.
Although Dynamite is typically in the top five of the cable charts, it faced stiff competition from various sporting events, including NBA games, NCAA tournament play-in games, and the World Baseball Classic, all of which aired on Wednesday night. Dynamite still managed to come in third among non-sports programming on cable.
Despite the overall decrease in viewership, Dynamite did see an increase of 6.3 percent in women aged 18-49, while people aged 18-34 dropped by 18.2 percent.
Compared to the same week in 2022, Dynamite’s overall audience was down by 14.2 percent, while its 18-49 rating dropped by 29 percent.
For the past 11 weeks, the show’s overall viewership and individual demo ratings have been listed, along with the 10-week averages in all categories. This week’s episode was down 6.8 percent in overall viewership and 10 percent in the 18-49 demographic compared to recent averages. As the competition heats up, AEW will need to keep bringing their A-game to keep up with the rest of the cable programming.
