Game Changer Wrestling Challenges AEW's Trademark Filing for "Fight Forever"

WrestlingInc recently reported that Game Changer Wrestling (GCW) has filed an opposition to the trademark filing for AEW’s upcoming video game “Fight Forever” on March 1. While GCW has requested a 90-day extension to formally oppose the trademark, the United States Patent and Trademark Office granted the extension the following day.

According to GCW’s opposition appeal, they are asking for 90 days to investigate and confer with legal counsel. The document also mentions that GCW is currently “engaged in settlement discussions with applicant,” referring to AEW. It’s unclear what those discussions entail or whether they’ll result in a resolution before the end of the 90-day extension.

In response to a fan on Twitter, GCW owner Brett Lauderdale made it clear that his promotion’s opposition to the trademark filing was not motivated by a desire for financial compensation from AEW. He wrote, “GCW has never, and will never ask for a dollar of Tony Khan’s money.”
