Kofi Kingston Replaced by Xavier Woods for Tomorrow’s Fatal 5-Way Match on WWE SmackDown

During last week’s episode of WWE SmackDown, wrestler Kofi Kingston sustained an injury that has prevented him from participating in this week’s The Fatal 5-Way No. 1 Contender’s Match is set to determine the next challenger for the Intercontinental Championship. Kingston took to social media to share a video of himself with his leg in a cast, hinting that the injury was severe and may keep him out of the ring for an extended period.

In response, WWE.com announced that Kingston’s tag team partner, Xavier Woods, would take his place in the match. The contest will feature Woods vs. Sheamus vs. Drew McIntyre vs. LA Knight vs. Karrion Kross. The bout winner will earn a shot at reigning Intercontinental Champion Gunther.

Fans can witness this high-stakes match when SmackDown airs live on FOX at 8:00 pm EST. Additionally, the episode will feature Braun Strowman and Ricochet facing off against The Viking Raiders and Roman Reigns, giving Jey Uso one last chance.

It remains to be seen how Kingston’s injury will impact his future in the WWE and whether or not he will return to action anytime soon. Nevertheless, the WWE universe will surely be tuning in to see which competitor emerges victorious in the Fatal 5-Way match and earns a coveted opportunity to challenge for the Intercontinental Championship.
