King & Queen Of The Ring Tournament is Heading to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

After a hiatus since 2022, WWE has finally announced the revival of their famous King of the Ring premium live event, set to take place in just a few weeks. The announcement was made by WWE during their recent episode of Monday Night RAW, sending fans into a frenzy of excitement and anticipation.

The King of the Ring tournament has long been a staple of WWE programming since 1985. The event was created to crown the top wrestler in the company and has since become one of the most anticipated and prestigious events on the wrestling calendar.

The upcoming King of the Ring event will also feature a Queen of the Ring tournament, introduced recently to promote gender equality within the industry. The Queen of the Ring tournament debuted as part of the Crown Jewel premium live event in Saudi Arabia in 2021, with Zelina Vega emerging as the first-ever winner of the tournament.

The King and Queen of the Ring premium live event will be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on May 27th. This will be the second time WWE will host a Queen of the Ring tournament in Saudi Arabia, following the success of the inaugural Queen’s Crown tournament held as part of the Crown Jewel PLE in October 2021.

In addition to the King and Queen of the Ring event, reports suggest that WWE also plans to bring back the Backlash premium live event in May. Backlash was first held in 1999 and became one of the most popular PPV events in the company’s history. The event was later renamed WrestleMania Backlash in 2021, as it was held shortly after the flagship WrestleMania event. However, it is rumored that the WrestleMania branding will be dropped from the event this year.
