Kurt Angle is a bona fide legend in the world of sports entertainment. With his unbreakable ankle lock and masterful technical prowess, Angle has reigned supreme in the ring for years. His unmatched intensity and ability to deliver electrifying matches have earned him a slew of championship titles and accolades that speak to his unparalleled talent. It’s no wonder that Angle is a dream match for many wrestlers.

After making a triumphant return to the WWE in 2017, Angle put on his wrestling boots and grappled his way back into the ring, all while taking on the demanding role of RAW General Manager. But one challenger stood out from the rest, eagerly waiting to square off against the wrestling icon. Keith Lee, known as the Limitless One, revealed on The Masked Man Show that Kurt Angle was his ultimate dream opponent – a clash of titans that would surely shake the foundation of the wrestling world.

“For as long as I could remember, my number one dream match was against Kurt Angle. When I tell you I had an entire match in my head of things I wanted to happen. I wanted 20, 30 minutes [with him].”

Keith Lee’s dreams of facing off against Kurt Angle in the ring never came to fruition, as Angle retired before Lee even made it to the main roster. Despite this disappointment, Lee opened up about his favorite wrestlers, including Brock Lesnar, Low Ki, and the Great Muta, who all rank highly in his eyes.

“My influence in this industry is a three-way cross, it’s a triangle, maybe even isosceles, and it is a cross between early [2000s] Brock Lesnar, Kurt Angle, and Low Ki. Those are some of my biggest influences, and then right there on the precipice is Great Muta. Those are my biggest influences and people I love to study and/or watch.”

It’s a shame that Keith Lee never had the chance to go toe-to-toe with Kurt Angle in the ring, as it would have undoubtedly been a spectacle for wrestling fans. But there’s still hope that this dream match could become a reality should Angle decide to lace up his boots once again.

Angle’s lasting impact on the world of professional wrestling is undeniable. His status as a dream opponent for wrestlers like Keith Lee is a testament to his continued relevance in the sport. Even though Lee never got to face off against Angle, his admiration for the Olympic gold medalist speaks volumes about Angle’s impact on the next generation of wrestlers.

While Angle’s retirement may have dashed any hopes of seeing him in the ring again, the possibility of a match against some of today’s top talent is too intriguing to dismiss entirely. Regardless, Angle’s legacy as a legendary wrestler and an inspiration to up-and-coming stars like Keith Lee are firmly cemented in the annals of wrestling history.
