Update on Roman Reigns vs Sami Zayn Rematch

0

The Sami Zayn/Roman Reigns storyline is one of the best ongoing plots in the current WWE scene. After their showdown at WWE Elimination Chamber, many assumed the story had ended. However, Zayn surprised fans by announcing on RAW that their rivalry had just begun. Now, it seems that Zayn will have his chance to rechallenge The Tribal Chief in an upcoming rematch.

The highly-anticipated March 4th live event at Toronto’s Coca-Cola Coliseum will feature Zayn and Reigns going head-to-head in the main event. This match was announced after WWE scrapped their original plans of a tag team match between Roman and Solo against Zayn and Owens. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the plan change was due to creative reasons. The match was nonsensical as Zayn and Owens are still mending their friendship.

Furthermore, booking Zayn in a rematch against Roman was considered a more lucrative option, as it would drive ticket sales. The announcement of the tag team bout alone reportedly boosted ticket sales by 600, so it’s safe to say that fans are eagerly anticipating the upcoming rematch between Zayn and Reigns.
