Andrade El Idolo departed from WWE to join AEW in search of better opportunities. Still, his transition to Tony Khan’s company has not been as successful as anticipated due to an injury that has kept him out of the ring for some time. Despite his efforts to return to action, as Ric Flair confirmed, he has been unable to do so due to a pectoral injury he sustained last fall, for which he underwent surgery in late November. Although the severity of the tear is unknown, Andrade has been recovering and is expected to return to the ring sometime in the Spring. During his recovery, he has been seen in happy pictures with his wife, Charlotte Flair. Sean Sapp, behind Fightful’s paywall, reported this information.
For those that are asking, Andrade is still recovering from surgery. He had suffered a torn pectoral injury during a match last fall, and had surgery in late November. He’s not expected to be ready until the Spring at least.
Once Andrade El Idolo returns to the ring, his performance will be closely observed to assess his abilities. Despite possessing significant talent, Andrade has encountered difficulty in captivating viewers since his tenure in NXT while under Triple H’s management.
