Sean Waltman Shares a Dark Moment in His Life

Having made a name for himself in the pro wrestling world as the 1-2-3 Kid in WWE and later as Sean Waltman in WCW, where he was part of the influential nWo, X-Pac is a true veteran of the industry. Although his days of competing inside the squared circle are behind him, he remains focused on sharing his insights about the current state of the pro wrestling business. However, X-Pac also faced personal struggles over the years, including when he almost lost hope and contemplated ending his life.

In an interview with the New York Post to promote the upcoming episode of ‘Biography: WWE Legends that features the nWo, X-Pac opened up about his dark past, recalling a time in Mexico when he felt so low that he wanted to hang himself. Despite his personal struggles, X-Pac’s lasting impact on the world of pro wrestling has solidified his position as one of the most influential wrestlers in history.

Whenever I thought I finally hit bottom, or other people thought that, I would always prove myself and others wrong. I’d hit another bottom. It’s just one of those things where for me where for the longest time I wanted to want to be better. I just felt like, ‘What’s wrong with me for not actually being able to do this?’

It just gradually happened for me. I can’t answer what rock bottom was. Because you would think hanging myself from the roof of my apartment in Mexico, or other really bad things, would be the thing that would do it — and they weren’t. I made progress but I would fall again.

Finally I just got around the right people, and the right resources, and I’m just really fortunate to have a lot of great people that didn’t give up on me. Or even that came into my life in recent years that felt like taking a chance on me.

It’s been some time since X-Pac last competed, so it remains to be seen when he’ll make his return to the squared circle. However, we must commend him for his mental fortitude and his ability to overcome personal struggles and pull himself out of a dark place.
