Mandy Rose significantly impacted NXT as the Women’s Champion, holding the title for 413 days before losing it to Roxanne Perez. Despite her success, Rose was controversially let go by WWE, inciting anger among fans. It is important to note that Shawn Michaels was not responsible for Rose’s dismissal.

Mandy Rose’s WWE contract was terminated because she posted on her premium content platform without being allowed to remove the content before her release.

Mandy Rose earned $1 million through her FanTime platform last year. Despite being warned by WWE about the nature of her premium content, Rose continued to offer her services through the platform.

While participating in the NXT Vengeance Day media call, WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels addressed the topic of Mandy Rose’s firing, clarifying that he was not responsible for her release.

Obviously it’s not the ideal situation, I will say if I’m allowed to say for the record, I didn’t fire her, I can’t fire anybody. The only thing correct about any of that was I handle creative. It was unfortunate, I think Mandy was fantastic for us, I absolutely enjoyed working with her, she was a phenomenal champion. We would have loved things to have gone differently and been able to build our story with Roxanne, but I was put in a position where I was made to make a call creatively.

What I’ve learned doing this job was nothing comes before the brand and we have to put those things forward and that’s what we did. Roxanne was certainly what we were going to go regardless, but we just had to cut a few weeks earlier than we expected to. The great thing is we’re back on course and I will say I think of the world of Mandy Rose, she was nothing but phenomenal with us and we’ll miss her.

Mandy Rose feels nothing wrong with posting content on a premium service and sees her shift from professional wrestling to premium content as a positive one.
