Comparing current pro wrestlers to historical ones is a common occurrence in the world of professional wrestling. Wrestling fans often associate modern wrestlers with legends of the past based on similarities in their traits and signature moves. For example, Bray Wyatt has been compared to The Undertaker and Ricky Starks to The Rock.

Comparing Rhea Ripley to WWF legend Chyna has been a recurring theme for several years, especially after her win at this year’s Women’s Royal Rumble. In an interview with Ariel Helwani from BT Sport, Ripley expressed her approval of the comparison, saying “I think it’s cool, I want people to keep saying that.”

Rhea Ripley wants to follow in Chyna’s footsteps by going for the Intercontinental Championship, similar to Chyna’s famous win in 1999. During an interview, Ripley expressed her excitement about the possibility, saying, “Kofi [Kingston] said he wants to see me go for the Intercontinental title and I’m so down for it, I love being compared to Chyna.”

She remains undefeated in intergender matches on the main WWE roster, her sole victory coming against Akira Tozawa. Intergender wrestling is less common in WWE, but Ripley’s record speaks for itself.

She values the comparisons to Chyna but aims to establish her own distinct legacy. “I can’t be the next Chyna. She was incredible, one of a kind…but I’m the first Rhea Ripley,” she stated.
