According to a recent report from Fightful Select, Cody Rhodes has been preparing for his return to the wrestling ring at the WWE Performance Center.

A recent report from Fightful Select stated that Cody Rhodes was seen at the WWE Performance Center in late December, accompanied by his family and team. The report also mentions that sources have informed them that Rhodes had the opportunity to select who would train him for his in-ring return and he chose NXT wrestlers, Carmelo Hayes and Joe Gacy, as his trainers.

Cody Rhodes had to withdraw from in-ring competition just days before the Hell in a Cell match in June 2022, due to a pectoral tendon injury, despite this, he still had his match against Seth Rollins and won. He has not competed in the ring since then.

According to Fightful Select, Cody Rhodes is scheduled to be a part of WWE’s WrestleMania 39, which was already planned since the fall. However, sources have suggested that due to the quick recovery and progress of his injury, he might make his in-ring return sooner than expected, possibly at the Royal Rumble on January 28. The betting odds currently have him as a fan favorite to win the 2023 Men’s Royal Rumble, with Sami Zayn being the second.

“The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes made a highly-anticipated return to WWE at WrestleMania 38, where he was revealed as the mystery opponent for Seth Rollins. His comeback was a huge success, and it even went on to win an ESPY for “WWE Moment of the Year.” The award was given for his comeback match against Seth Rollins, which was up against other significant moments such as The Undertaker’s induction into the WWE Hall of Fame, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin stunning Vince McMahon, Austin Theory and Pat McAfee at WrestleMania 38, and Big E cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase to win the WWE Championship.
