Sasha Banks left WWE in May 2022 and became a free agent in 2023. It has been reported that Mercedes Mone will not be signing with All Elite Wrestling during her time as a free agent.

Saraya announced she has a mystery partner for the AEW event at the Forum next week. Many speculated that the mystery partner could be Mercedes Mone, but it has been confirmed that this is not the case.

It was previously believed that Mercedes Mone would be Saraya’s partner in a match against Dr. Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter at the AEW event in Los Angeles next week. However, it was later announced that Toni Storm would be filling that role instead.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the former WWE wrestler, Sasha Banks, will not be joining AEW. Meltzer stated that Banks does not wish to sign a long-term contract with Tony Khan’s company at this time.

“She is not in Los Angeles. She is not coming to AEW. I don’t think she wants to make that commitment. Because if she goes to AEW it’s a long commitment.”

“I’ve heard denials from AEW people in the match. They knew that it was really screwed. That’s why they had to announce somebody this week because they knew it was really screwed because everybody was thinking that it was her and it wasn’t her.”

It remains to be seen if Mercedes Mone will return to WWE in the future. It is possible that she does not want to completely close the door on that possibility, and signing a deal with AEW would also involve a longer commitment. It appears that she is not ready for such a commitment at this stage of her career.
