WWE Flight To Saudi Arabia Delayed Ahead Of Royal Rumble

Weather causes seven-hour hold for charter plane

Summary

– Charter flight grounded for seven hours due to bad weather

– Roster and crew have now arrived safely in Saudi Arabia

– NXT Champion Jacy Jayne pulled from US events for Riyadh trip

The journey to the 2026 Royal Rumble faced a significant hurdle on January 30. WWE personnel dealt with a seven-hour delay before their charter flight could depart for Riyadh. Fightful Select confirmed inclement weather conditions in the United States caused the hold.

Once the plane was airborne, the trip proceeded without further incident. Talent and staff have officially touched down in Saudi Arabia and are preparing for the event at King Abdullah Financial District.

News of the arrival coincides with reports of a major addition to the Women’s Royal Rumble match. NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne was initially set for house shows in the United States this weekend, but has been rerouted to join the main roster overseas. PWInsider noted that pulling a champion from advertised appearances is a strong indicator of significant creative plans.

Internal discussions regarding other surprise entrants have included names such as Sol Ruca, Lola Vice, and AAA star Mr. Iguana. Jayne remains the most concrete potential surprise given her travel adjustments. The event is scheduled to air live on January 31.
