Signs emerge that WWE is already distancing itself from the Hall of Famer
Summary
– Mick Foley confirmed he will not renew his WWE Legends contract
– WWE Supercard quietly removed a planned Foley card without notice
– The move signals an early separation before his deal officially expires
WWE is taking early steps to distance itself from Mick Foley following his announcement of his departure from the company.
Earlier this week, the WWE Hall of Famer confirmed that he will not renew his Legends contract when it expires next year. Foley cited WWE’s ongoing association with Donald Trump as the reason for his decision, while noting that his current agreement remains active for now.
Despite that clarification, WWE Supercard provided a notable sign that things may already be changing. A seasonal Mick Foley card tied to the WarGames event was initially added to the game before being quietly removed just hours later without any announcement.
The festive “Saint Mick” version of Foley has become a recurring holiday tradition within the game. This year would have marked the fifth time the character appeared, making its sudden removal especially noticeable to longtime players.
Following questions from fans, Supercard developer Catdaddy addressed the situation on the game’s official Discord. The company acknowledged that Foley is unlikely to be usable going forward and confirmed a replacement card was already in development.
That replacement ultimately ended up being an Austin Theory card featuring his updated Raw look. The swap did little to ease fan reaction, as many had expected Foley’s annual appearance to continue.
Foley’s absence from Supercard has also raised questions about his status in WWE 2K26. Without a major role planned, removing him from the game would be relatively straightforward, similar to past roster changes following talent departures.
Foley previously shared a detailed statement explaining his decision, emphasizing that while he remains grateful for his WWE career, he no longer feels comfortable representing the company. He emphasized that his decision was personal and principled, rather than driven by any dispute over his legacy.
While Foley’s Legends deal has not yet expired, the Supercard change suggests WWE may already be accelerating a quiet separation behind the scenes.
