The Rascalz Explain Their Decision to Join AEW

Trios group cites growth and competition as key reasons for move

Summary

– The Rascalz discussed why they left TNA Wrestling for AEW

– The group emphasized growth, pace, and competition over money

– They debuted in AEW shortly after finalizing multi-year deals

The Rascalz are officially part of All Elite Wrestling, and the trio recently explained what drove their decision to join.

Myron Reed, Dezmond Xavier, and Zachary Wentz spoke about their signing during an appearance on Closeup with Renee Paquette on January 27, outlining why AEW stood out after their exit from TNA Wrestling.

Reed focused on the idea of starting fresh, describing AEW as a faster-moving environment that demands quick adjustment and constant readiness.

He noted that the change in pace was immediately noticeable, forcing them to adapt to a new system without hesitation.

Xavier echoed those thoughts, calling AEW the highest level of competition, where they could truly test themselves.

He explained that the group thrives on pressure, both internally and against top-level opponents, and that AEW offered the challenge they were seeking.

Wentz added that the trio views itself as one of the best groups in wrestling and feels it is time to prove that on a larger stage.

He admitted that remaining in one place too long can lead to stagnation, and AEW provided the opportunity to push beyond their previous limits.

The Rascalz made their AEW debut on the January 17 episode of Collision, shortly after reports confirmed they had signed multi-year contracts earlier in the month.

With their intentions now clear, the focus shifts to how quickly they can make an impact within AEW’s tag and trios divisions.
