Jessica McKay and Cassie Lee’s move had been in motion for weeks
Summary
– The IInspiration debuted at AEW House Rules in Brisbane and confirmed their signing
– Both women agreed to multi-year contracts that were finalized weeks before debut
– Their TNA exit was amicable, with contracts expiring months earlier
The IInspiration are now officially part of All Elite Wrestling, but their arrival was far from last-minute. Jessica McKay and Cassie Lee appeared at AEW House Rules in Brisbane on February 15, one night after AEW Grand Slam Australia, and confirmed their status in front of a hometown crowd.
According to Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp, the agreements were secured well before their debut. Sources indicated that the signings were considered a done deal roughly 4 weeks before the Brisbane appearance. The contracts are multi-year agreements, signaling that AEW sees long-term value in the former tag champions.
Their departure from TNA had quietly taken shape months earlier. Although McKay and Lee dropped the Knockouts Tag Team Titles on the January 15 AMC debut episode, their contracts reportedly expired around Bound For Glory. They continued appearing without formal deals until their exit was finalized.
The split from TNA was described as amicable, with no internal conflict. There was also speculation within WWE circles. Several believed that if the duo did not appear in the Royal Rumble, their next stop would be AEW. That assumption proved accurate once they surfaced in Brisbane.
Their arrival aligns with AEW’s recent efforts to strengthen the women’s division. Lena Kross was also added to the roster, and the company had previously hinted that new signings were on the way.
One additional note regarding the team concerns their entrance theme, which is reportedly tied creatively to Harley Cameron. Now that the contracts are official, attention shifts to how AEW plans to position one of the most recognizable women’s tag teams of the past decade.
