Norman Reedus has officially wrapped production on The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 4, marking the end of a long-running journey for one of television’s most beloved survivors. In a heartfelt message to fans, Reedus hinted that this may be a final goodbye to the crossbow-wielding hero he’s portrayed for over a decade.

“Last filming day today for Daryl Dixon,” Reedus shared on social media. “It’s been such a joy for me to play this guy with all of you for this long. I feel really blessed. Truly. Thank you all really from my heart.”

The Daryl Dixon spin-off followed the character’s unexpected trek across Europe, culminating in a reunion with Carol Peletier, played by Melissa McBride. Season 3’s finale took the duo to Spain, setting the stage for the upcoming final season. AMC announced in July that season 4 will conclude the series.

While the story may be coming to an end, showrunner Scott Gimple has indicated that production schedules will remain tight, ensuring fans won’t have to wait long for the final season. “We always aimed for consistency,” Gimple said, referencing The Walking Dead’s original May-to-November filming cycle.

The network’s other spin-off, The Walking Dead: Dead City, is currently filming its third season, ensuring the universe continues even as Daryl’s journey nears its close.
