New PlayStation Store update points toward September 2026 launch
Summary
– PS Store Mexico listing places Marvel’s Wolverine in Q3 2026
– September 2026 now appears the most likely launch window
– Timing would avoid direct competition with GTA 6
Marvel’s Wolverine may be closer than previously expected. A PlayStation Store listing has narrowed down the anticipated release window for Insomniac Games’ upcoming PS5 exclusive.
Sony had already confirmed a fall 2026 launch. However, the Mexican PlayStation Store now lists the title for the third quarter of 2026. Since Q3 runs from July through September, and fall begins in late September, the most logical landing spot is September 2026.
The timing would align with Sony’s typical release strategy. Insomniac’s Marvel’s Spider-Man also launched in September, setting a precedent for high-profile PlayStation Studios titles during that window.
Another factor likely influencing scheduling is Grand Theft Auto VI. Many publishers are expected to avoid releasing major titles too close to Rockstar’s blockbuster, widely anticipated to dominate the market upon arrival. A September launch would allow Wolverine to secure strong momentum before that wave hits.
Sony has a State of Play event set for February 12. A new look at Wolverine seems possible, though a firm release date remains uncertain.
