Liv Morgan Stalker’s Trial Postponed After New Mental Evaluation Ordered

Court pushes proceedings to 2026 as accused undergoes further psychiatric review

Summary

– Trial for Liv Morgan’s accused stalker delayed until early 2026

– New psychological evaluation ordered to assess defendant’s competency

– Suspect remains in custody following disturbing incident at Morgan’s home

The trial of Shawn Chan, the man accused of stalking WWE star Liv Morgan, has been officially postponed. Court documents confirm that proceedings have been moved to early 2026 after a new psychological evaluation was ordered.

Chan, a Canadian national, was initially set to face trial in November 2025 on one count of interstate domestic violence. However, the court accepted an unopposed motion requesting more time for additional psychiatric testing. The defense has retained an expert to conduct a second evaluation, with the government expected to follow with its own examination if necessary.

Chan has been in custody since his arrest in June 2025 and has repeatedly been denied bond. His first psychological assessment diagnosed him with delusional disorder, prompting concerns about his mental competency to stand trial.

According to the criminal complaint, Chan’s behavior before his arrest was deeply alarming. He traveled from Ontario to Florida in late May, reportedly telling officials he planned to stay at the WWE Performance Center—despite no accommodations being available there. Days later, he was caught on surveillance footage circling Liv Morgan’s property before attempting to enter her home. He left behind an air rifle and a handwritten note that referenced their supposed online interactions.

The FBI arrested Chan on June 3 after WWE security identified him from footage at Morgan’s residence. He was indicted later that month and faces up to five years in prison if convicted.

With the case delayed, Chan will remain behind bars while both sides complete their evaluations. The extension prolongs an unsettling situation that has forced Morgan to keep her security under constant review.
