Summary
– Elio LeFleur vacated the WWE Speed Title due to injury
– He revealed he will be out of action for six months
– WWE announced a new contender tournament to crown a champion
Elio LeFleur’s momentum has been halted after he announced he is vacating the WWE Speed Title due to injury.
During the March 31 episode of NXT, LeFleur appeared in a backstage segment to address his status ahead of Stand & Deliver. He confirmed that the injury he suffered recently will keep him out of action for six months.
The setback stems from a backstage attack that sidelined him from competition last week. That same incident also removed him from the number one contender tag team tournament.
With his recovery timeline now confirmed, LeFleur stated he will be unable to defend the WWE Speed Title, officially relinquishing the championship.
He also revealed that WWE will begin a new number one contender tournament next week to determine the next champion.
Wren Sinclair appeared during the segment to show support, adding a personal touch to what was otherwise a difficult moment.
LeFleur had been gaining traction with his recent push, but now faces time away from the ring as he focuses on recovery.
