El Paso will officially recognize Eddie Guerrero Day on Tuesday, November 18, 2025. The city will host a 9 AM proclamation ceremony at City Hall, located at 300 N. Campbell Street, with a livestream on the city’s YouTube channel. Fans are encouraged to attend in lucha masks or as favorite wrestling personas to celebrate the WWE Hall of Famer’s legacy.

Community organizer Chris Rojas announced the proclamation on October 1 and outlined long-term goals tied to Guerrero’s memory. The plans include fundraising to restore the Lincoln Park mural, pursuing a park renaming, and ultimately building a statue at Lincoln Park. Rojas also thanked Guerrero’s daughter, Sherilyn, for supporting the effort.

The original Lincoln Park mural, painted by artist Eric Dubitsky in 2007, remains a local landmark. The restoration is positioned as the first step in a broader series of tributes that will give fans and residents a lasting place to honor Guerrero.

City Council Member Deanna M. Rocha promoted the ceremony on Instagram and invited the public to show support. Her message underscored the city’s pride in one of its most beloved figures and encouraged attendees to embrace the spirit of “Viva La Raza.”

El Paso’s proclamation affirms Guerrero’s impact on wrestling and his hometown. The combination of official recognition and community-led projects signals a sustained commitment to preserving his legacy.
