Summary

– A major DLC expansion is scheduled to release this summer

– Mission 100 mode launches January 26 with Survival Mode to follow

– New characters, costumes, stages, and gameplay systems are included

Dragon Ball Sparking ZERO is gearing up for a significant content push as Bandai Namco and Spike Chunsoft revealed a major downloadable expansion alongside multiple free updates. The roadmap adds new ways to play while expanding the roster and customization options.

The upcoming paid DLC is described as a large-scale addition packed with playable characters, outfits, stages, and a brand-new mode. Confirmed fighters include Super Android 17, King Piccolo, and Super Saiyan Bardock, while new costumes, such as kid-era Gohan, are also part of the package.

Players will also gain access to deeper battle customization, allowing characters like Goku and Vegeta to unlock and experiment with new super attacks. These additions aim to expand replay value across both casual and competitive play.

A free update titled Mission 100 launches January 26, introducing a single-player mode built around clearing a large number of themed challenges. The mode is intentionally straightforward but offers a wide variety of battles designed to evoke memories of Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3.

Another free update, Survival Mode, is scheduled for release this spring. Platform timing will vary, with Switch and Switch 2 versions receiving content later than PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC.

Dragon Ball Sparking ZERO is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, Switch, and PC.
