Summary

– Demolition learned about their WWE Hall of Fame induction through a surprise call from The Undertaker

– The announcement happened during a Zoom meeting originally meant to discuss new merchandise

– The tag team credits years of fan support and convention appearances for helping secure the honor

Demolition is officially headed to the WWE Hall of Fame, and the legendary tag team recently revealed that the news came through a surprising moment involving The Undertaker.

Bill “Ax” Eadie and Barry “Smash” Darsow shared the story during an episode of DEMOPOD, hosted by Ryan Mar. According to the duo, they initially believed they were joining a routine Zoom meeting with WWE to review upcoming merchandise tied to their legacy.

Ax explained that the meeting was meant to showcase new items, including action figures and apparel. The conversation took an unexpected turn when The Undertaker suddenly appeared during the call and delivered the news that Demolition would be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

Smash admitted the moment completely caught them off guard. Hearing the announcement directly from The Undertaker made the situation even more special for the longtime tag team.

The company had previously planned to announce the news earlier in the year during a promotional appearance tied to a WWE event in Montreal. However, travel plans were disrupted by a major snowstorm, which prevented the team from reaching the event.

Demolition was scheduled to fly to Montreal following another appearance in Atlanta, but the severe weather forced the cancellation. The live reveal WWE planned for the event never happened, so the surprise announcement was delivered later during the virtual meeting.

Both Ax and Smash also highlighted the role fans played in helping them achieve Hall of Fame recognition. They explained that supporters frequently asked about the honor during autograph signings and convention appearances over the years.

Smash noted that their consistent presence at fan conventions helped keep the team visible within the wrestling community. Traveling across the country nearly every other weekend allowed them to connect directly with supporters who continued advocating for their Hall of Fame induction.

The 2026 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony will take place on April 17 in Las Vegas during WrestleMania 42 weekend. Demolition joins a class that already includes Stephanie McMahon and AJ Styles.

Although the team has not yet confirmed who will induct them during the ceremony, Smash said discussions are underway with WWE. He submitted a list of possible names, and the final decision will be made after internal review.
