Dead City Season 3 Episode Count Reportedly Revealed

WGA listing hints at eight episode third season

Summary

– Dead City season 3 reportedly set for eight episodes

– WGA filings revealed writers and creative team details

– Maggie and Negan alliance expected to drive new story

The Walking Dead: Dead City season 3 is starting to take shape after new details surfaced through industry listings. Filings connected to the Writers Guild of America West indicate the upcoming season may consist of eight episodes.

That total would match season 2, while season 1 featured six episodes. Keeping the same number suggests the series may be settling into a consistent format moving forward.

The filings also revealed several writers attached to the new season. Seth Hoffman is listed as showrunner alongside contributors including Matthew Negrete, Justin Boyd, Jacey Heldrich, and Mira Z. Barnum.

Story direction is expected to continue the evolving relationship between Maggie and Negan. Season 2 ended with Maggie choosing not to kill Negan, signaling a shift toward cooperation instead of revenge.

Season 3 is expected to follow the pair as they attempt to build a sustainable community in Manhattan. Their alliance will face new threats while past conflicts continue to linger.

Returning cast members include Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan. Gaius Charles, Željko Ivanek, Lisa Emery, Logan Kim, and Keir Gilchrist are also set to return, while new additions include Aimee Garcia, Jimmi Simpson, and Raúl Castillo.

No official premiere date has been announced. The third season is still expected to arrive in 2026, depending on production and post-production timelines.
