Classic Rayman Set for PS5 and Switch Comeback After Nearly 30 Years

A leaked rating points to a modern return for a beloved platformer

Summary

– A classic PS1 title from 1995 is reportedly returning on modern consoles

– Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition appears in an official ratings listing

– PS5 and Nintendo Switch are named as release platforms

One of the most recognizable platformers of the 1990s may be gearing up for a surprise return. A new listing suggests the original Rayman is headed back to the spotlight on modern hardware.

The Australian Classification rating board has listed Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition for release on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. Ratings submissions typically occur late in development, suggesting a release could be closer than expected.

The listing raises eyebrows because Atari is listed as both developer and publisher. Ubisoft owns the Rayman brand and rarely licenses it, which has led to speculation that this version could be a physical re-release rather than a new project.

Ubisoft previously confirmed plans involving Rayman in 2025, fueling long-running rumors about multiple projects in development. Industry insider Tom Henderson also teased something tied to the franchise’s 30-year milestone that would arrive sooner rather than later.

The original Rayman launched in 1995 and quickly became one of the PlayStation’s standout platformers. Strong reviews and commercial success helped establish the series, which has remained part of gaming culture for decades.
