Big E has officially confirmed that his in-ring wrestling career has come to an end. The former WWE Champion shared the news while making media appearances during Super Bowl week.

Speaking with Compas on the Beat, Big E explained that he is at peace with his decision. He acknowledged the unpredictable nature of wrestling careers but said that, at this stage, retirement feels like the right choice as he shifts his focus to other opportunities.

Big E also shared a heartfelt message on social media, reflecting on the physical toll his career has taken. He revealed that he entered professional wrestling at age 23 with multiple major injuries already behind him, including torn ACLs, a torn pectoral muscle, and a broken patella.

Despite the wear and tear, Big E said he feels fortunate that his body allows him to live without constant pain. He expressed gratitude for being able to function normally and credited good fortune for his current health.

He went on to thank fans for supporting his journey, calling his time performing for audiences an immeasurable gift. Big E also shared his thoughts on fellow wrestlers who have not been as lucky with their long-term health.

Big E’s in-ring career effectively ended following a serious injury on the March 11, 2022, episode of SmackDown. During the match, he suffered a broken neck after a botched overhead belly-to-belly suplex from Ridge Holland and was stretchered from the ringside area.

While he leaves the ring behind, Big E’s legacy remains intact as one of the most respected and beloved figures of his generation.
