Brie Bella has clarified why the Bella Twins have not appeared regularly on WWE television despite speculation about a comeback.
Speaking during a March 13 conversation with Lala Kent, Brie explained that both she and Nikki Bella expected to return to weekly programming shortly after her appearance in the Women’s Royal Rumble earlier this year.
Brie said she assumed her return at the end of January would lead to consistent appearances on Monday Night Raw. Instead, WWE informed her that the company would bring the Bella Twins back when the storyline required their involvement.
The delay has surprised Brie, who admitted she expected the process to move much faster after stepping back into the ring. Even with the wait, she emphasized that both sisters are eager to compete again.
Brie said she would like to wrestle before WrestleMania 42, especially with the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships expected to be featured during the event.
She also stressed that she and Nikki believe they can still compete with the current WWE women’s roster if given the opportunity.
The Bella Twins last appeared on WWE television during the February 2 episode of Raw. Although Brie competed in the Women’s Royal Rumble earlier this year, the duo has not teamed together inside the ring since that appearance.
Speculation about a return has continued to grow. Nikki Bella was recently spotted in Phoenix ahead of a SmackDown event, and fans noticed she interacted with a social media post suggesting the twins might appear.
Both Nikki and Brie also confirmed during a recent appearance on Access Daily that they will be involved during WrestleMania 42 weekend in Las Vegas.
For now, the Bella Twins remain ready for a return, but their next WWE appearance will depend on when creative decides to bring them back into the storyline.
