Alberto Del Rio Released After Settlement

Court grants conditional release following domestic violence case hearing

Summary

– Alberto Del Rio released after financial settlement in case

– Judge allowed conditional suspension instead of continued detention

– Six-month court supervision with compliance hearing scheduled

Alberto Del Rio has been released from custody following a court hearing tied to his domestic violence case. The decision came on April 11 after proceedings in San Luis Potosí that lasted more than three hours.

The judge determined there was enough evidence for the case to move forward to trial on repeated family violence charges. Del Rio’s legal team requested an alternative resolution, which led to the approval of a conditional suspension after a brief recess.

As part of the agreement, Del Rio paid 1,130,000 pesos as financial compensation. The victim was granted a pardon, clearing the way for his immediate release from custody.

The release includes strict conditions that must be followed for six months. A compliance verification hearing is scheduled for October 29, 2026, to review whether the requirements were met.

Authorities originally arrested Del Rio on April 6 after emergency services received a report of physical and verbal abuse. He was detained at a residence in the Lomas del Tecnológico area and held at La Pila prison under preventive detention.

The case remains active under court supervision despite the release. Fallout has already affected his wrestling schedule, with several promotions removing him from appearances while the situation continues.
