AEW’s Dax Harwood Announces the Conclusion of His Podcast

Published on

Dax Harwood, the AEW Tag Team Champion, has revealed that he and co-host Matt Koon are ending their weekly podcast show, ‘FTR with Dax’, effective immediately. In his latest podcast episode, Harwood expressed his concerns that the show was causing more harm than good to professional wrestling.

“I think we both feel we were causing more harm than good even though we were trying to do good. It just didn’t come across that way or portray it that way. We were more of a detriment to professional wrestling than we thought and never wanted to do that,” Harwood said.

The podcast was first announced last December, where Harwood and Koon talked about FTR’s career, current wrestling events, and focused subjects like CM Punk and the Young Bucks. Despite ending the show, Harwood did not rule out a return to podcasting someday, saying he loved the experience and what it meant to the fans.

However, Harwood took issue with the media outlets, who twisted some of the things he said on the show and portrayed him as a “bad human being.” Harwood apologized to his fans, including those who didn’t like him, fans of The Elite and MJF, and anyone he may have upset.

“I never wanted you to hate me so much that you would say some of the things you said to me,” he explained. Harwood and Koon knew the show would ruffle some feathers, but they wanted it to “do good for wrestling.”

Koon denied that AEW pressured them to end the show or that “trolls” or the media played a role. There was no falling out between the two, and they felt they “flew too close to the sun” and “made life difficult for some people.”

Harwood mentioned that some of those people included those he works with now, those he used to work with, and fans. He singled out Cash Wheeler and Punk, who received heat due to things he said on the podcast that didn’t deserve it.
