Charlotte Flair on Her Match with Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 39

Published on

Charlotte Flair, one of WWE’s most accomplished female athletes, recently discussed her upcoming match with Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 39 during an appearance with Bleacher Report. In the interview, Flair talked about the history between her and Ripley and how this match could conclude their feud that began in 2021.

Flair and Ripley have a storied history dating back to their match at WrestleMania 36 in 2020. Since then, the two have had several matches, with Ripley coming out on top in some and Flair in others. However, their feud was cut short after Flair lost the Raw Women’s Championship title to Nikki A.S.H., who cashed in her Money in the Bank briefcase just moments after the match.

Reflecting on this turn of events, Flair believes that their feud would have continued had it not been for the cash-in. “I think there would have been another match after our Money in the Bank [match] had Nikki A.S.H. not cashed in on me. I think this is now the ending to that. I think Money in the Bank would’ve probably led to another, but then you have this crazy cash-in out of nowhere and we just never crossed paths again,” she said during the interview.

Flair emphasized that she had no control over what happened, despite some fans believing otherwise. “In hindsight, I had no control of that. I’m saying it now: I don’t have control. I’m so flattered that people think I had that much power. I’m very flattered, but trust me, I don’t,” she explained.

With the WrestleMania 39 match between Flair and Ripley for the SmackDown Women’s Championship on the horizon, Flair sees this as the perfect opportunity to bring their feud to a close finally. “I think this is the ending to that. I think we’ve come full circle, and I think this is the conclusion of the story that began two years ago,” she said.

Fans eagerly anticipate the outcome of this match, as Flair and Ripley have proven to be two of WWE’s most talented and competitive female athletes.
