On Tuesday night’s WWE NXT Roadblock, NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez defended her title against the legendary Meiko Satomura, emerging victorious. However, shortly after Satomura handed her the championship, Perez suddenly collapsed to the mat. Medical officials, referees, Shawn Michaels, and Booker T all rushed to the ring to check on her. Perez was later seen being taken away on a stretcher to an ambulance backstage, leaving fans concerned about her condition.
WWE provided an initial update stating that Perez would be kept in the hospital overnight for further testing. Now, WWE has released a positive update on her condition, which is a good sign. However, it remains to be seen whether or not she will be able to compete at the upcoming “NXT” Stand and Deliver event on April 1st.
Currently, only two matches have been announced for the show, with Johnny Gargano set to make his in-ring return to “NXT” to face Grayson Waller, and Carmelo Hayes scheduled to challenge “NXT” Champion Bron Breakker. It will be interesting to see if Perez is able to defend her title at the event, as she has held the “NXT” Women’s Championship since December 13th and has successfully defended it five times since then, including her recent bout against Satomura.
Leading up to her latest match, Perez was shown putting herself through intense workouts in vignettes, demonstrating her dedication and hard work as a champion. Despite her recent health scare, her determination and spirit are sure to inspire her fans as she continues to defend her title and compete in the world of professional wrestling.
