Rockstar Games has just dropped a new trailer for the upcoming update of GTA Online, featuring more drug wars, a psychedelic trip, and a thrilling return of a fan-favorite character from Grand Theft Auto V’s story. As the game approaches its 10th year of existence, the developers have been striving to keep players engaged with frequent updates. However, instead of releasing fewer but more significant updates, Rockstar has decided to break up the content into smaller chunks to make it more sustainable.
The latest update, Los Santos Drug Wars, has been a success in terms of its pacing, with its final part, The Last Dose, due to release on March 16th. The trailer for the upcoming update gives a glimpse of the chaos that’s in store for players, as it features the appearance of aliens and UFOs and the return of Michael’s therapist, Dr. Friedlander.
While the specifics of Friedlander’s role are still unknown, seeing his return to the game is exciting. In the story of Grand Theft Auto V, Friedlander serves as Michael’s therapist before taking a deal for a TV show, which eventually leads to him being either killed by Michael or escaping. However, the canonical decision is that Friedlander survived and went on to do his TV show. With the upcoming update dealing with drugs, players can only speculate on what Friedlander’s new role will be – could he become a drug lord, or will he offer alternative forms of therapy? The possibilities are endless.
