During Tuesday’s NXT show, a backstage segment showed Wendy Choo lying injured on the cement in the NXT parking lot. She was attended to by Katana Chance and Kayden Carter. According to a social media post from Bryan Alvarez, the angle was created to cover a legitimate injury. The exact nature of the damage is unknown, but it is not considered too serious. However, Choo is expected to be out of action for a while.

Choo’s last match on WWE programming was on February 16, 2023, edition of Main Event, where she defeated Dana Brooke at Barclay’s Center in New York. She made her WWE debut in the 2018 Mae Young Classic and was signed to the promotion in February 2019, wrestling under the name Karen Q. In 2020, she adopted the Mei Ying gimmick as part of the Tian Sha stable and wrestled under her real name, Wendy Choo, starting in January 2022.
