WWE’s biggest event of the year is fast approaching, and Cody Rhodes secured a spot in the main event after winning the 2023 Men’s Royal Rumble. Despite this vast opportunity, he faces a challenge from the “Tribal Chief.”
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that WWE had altered its plan for WrestleMania. Initially, Cody Rhodes was set to challenge only one of Roman Reigns’ championships; however, the company has decided against introducing a new title.
“The key to this is that they are not creating a new championship on the Saturday night show. Yeah, they were talking about doing a second title on Saturday night.”
“If it was Roman and The Rock, then they were going to create a championship on Saturday night that Cody would have probably ended up winning. But, it was Cody, Drew, or Rollins that was gonna come out of that one. They were creating a second one, because they want to go back to two titles.”
During this week’s RAW, Cody Rhodes announced that he intends to capture both Roman Reigns’ championships. The outcome remains to be seen, but Cody Rhodes has decided not to limit himself to pursuing just one title.
The lead-up to WrestleMania is always packed with significant events and attention-grabbing storylines. It remains to be seen what will be the talk of the town on April 3rd once the two-day extravaganza has come to a close.
