As the Royal Rumble approaches, speculation about surprise appearances grows, with Chris Masters expressing interest in participating in the men’s match. He has stated his desire to face off against Bobby Lashley in the ring.
In an interview with “Hindustan Times,” Bobby Lashley expressed enthusiasm for the possibility of a match against a former WWE Superstar at the upcoming Royal Rumble event.
Although he last worked for WWE in 2011, Chris Masters has remained active in the wrestling industry. Bobby Lashley has been following Masters’ career and noted that he has been improving his skills on the independent circuit.
“I think if he has an opportunity to come back, I think that would be a really cool showcase,” Lashley said. “Whether it happens at the Rumble, you never know. The Rumble always has surprises. I think Chris has kind of proved himself in the professional wrestling world.”
If Bobby Lashley and Chris Masters were to face off in the ring, it would be interesting to see them both use their signature finisher, the Masterlock and Hurt Lock, respectively. Lashley was the first to break out of Masters’ Masterlock move in 2007 and is confident he could do it again.
“If he comes back, you know what I would do? I’d literally just turn around and put my hands out and tell him to put it on me again,” he said. “Then I’d ask him to do the same. And I guarantee you he’s not breaking out of The Hurt Lock. So there’s a lot of things that could happen in that matchup, but I think it would be cool for the fans to see. And I did take that from him because if I break it’s mine.”
