AMC has officially expanded The Walking Dead universe once again, this time into the gaming space with a brand-new mobile title.

The company, alongside Ares Interactive, announced The Walking Dead: Aftermath, a free-to-play roguelite game set in the world of the hit television series. Developed by Swift Games, the studio behind Heroes vs Hordes, the title is scheduled to launch this summer on the App Store and Google Play, with additional platforms planned for later.

The game places players in control of well-known survivors, including Rick Grimes, Daryl Dixon, and Michonne. Each run challenges players to battle through walker hordes, hostile enemies, and powerful bosses while adapting to changing conditions.

The experience blends fast-paced action with deeper strategy elements. Players will scavenge for supplies, upgrade their survivors, and build up a base that supports long-term progression across multiple runs.

Campaign missions will take place in iconic locations from the series, such as Hershel’s Farm, Woodbury, and Alexandria. Each area introduces new threats, forcing players to adjust their approach as the difficulty increases.

AMC’s Clayton Neuman described the project as capturing both the tension and excitement that define The Walking Dead, highlighting its mix of survival drama and action gameplay.

With its roguelite structure and familiar characters, The Walking Dead: Aftermath aims to deliver a replayable experience that keeps players coming back as they fight to survive in an increasingly dangerous world.
