WWE RAW Sees Viewership Dip as Cena and Rhodes Storyline Continues

Published on

Global audience declines amid shorter replay and ongoing debate segment

Summary

– March 24 WWE RAW viewership dropped 11.4 percent from March 17

– Netflix reported 5.6 million hours and 3.0 million global views

– Shorter replay episode contributed to the drop in minutes watched

The March 24 edition of WWE RAW, featuring the second week of the Cody Rhodes and John Cena debate, along with Bron Breakker vs. Penta, saw a notable drop in viewership compared to the previous week. Despite carrying over major storylines, the show experienced an 11.4 percent decrease from the March 17 broadcast.

Netflix reported that 5.6 million hours were watched and 3.0 million global views for the episode. While this marked a 3.2 percent drop from the prior week, a shorter replay also impacted the decline in total minutes. The March 24 replay ran one hour and 44 minutes, compared to the original day-one airing of two hours and 24 minutes.

When adjusting for standard television tracking methods Nielsen uses, the viewership equates to approximately 2,471,000 homes and 3,385,000 worldwide viewers. Despite the shorter replay skewing numbers slightly, the overall audience decrease still points to waning interest following week one’s intense Cena promo, where he blamed the fans.

As WWE builds toward WrestleMania, it remains to be seen if the Cena-Rhodes storyline can regain momentum in the coming weeks.
