Rampage Hits New Low in 18-49 Demo Rating, Faces Challenges from Major Sports Events

Summary

– The October 18 episode of AEW Rampage drew 234,000 viewers, a 7.5% decrease from the previous week.

– The show recorded a 0.06 rating in the 18-49 demographic, marking the lowest rating in that category for the show.

– Competition from WNBA Finals, MLB’s League Championship series, and college football contributed to the ratings decline.

The October 18th episode of AEW Rampage experienced a significant drop in viewership, attracting just 234,000 viewers on TNT—a 7.5% decrease from the prior week. This makes it the second-lowest viewership for the show since September 6th, as Rampage continues to struggle against intense competition in the sports world.

The 18-49 demographic rating saw an even steeper decline, with the episode scoring a 0.06 rating, down 33.3% from the previous week. This rating is not only the lowest in the show’s history but also marks a challenging moment for Rampage as it seeks to maintain its audience amidst increasingly tough competition.

The ratings dip coincided with major sports events dominating Friday night airwaves. ESPN drew viewers with Game 4 of the WNBA Finals, while FS1 and TBS broadcast the MLB League Championship series. On top of that, FOX’s weekly college football game drew in sports fans, creating a perfect storm that cut into Rampage’s typical audience.

Compared to the same week in 2023, AEW Rampage has seen a year-over-year decline of 31.5% overall viewership and a 45.5% drop in the 18-49 demographic rating. With major sports seasons ramping up, maintaining audience engagement will be a key challenge for Rampage in the coming weeks.
