Show Holds Steady Despite Move to Syfy Channel

Summary:

– WWE Raw’s ratings dropped due to competition from the Olympics and a channel switch to Syfy.

– Despite the drop, the show maintained strong numbers, especially in the 18-49 demographic.

– The first hour, featuring CM Punk, Seth Rollins, and Drew McIntyre, had the highest viewership.

WWE Raw experienced a ratings decline as it faced stiff competition from the Olympics and a temporary move to the Syfy channel. According to Pro Wrestling Torch, the July 30 episode garnered 1.41 million viewers with a 0.51 rating in the 18-49 demographic. This meant that 48 percent of the viewers were between 18 and 49, a rare achievement for WWE programming.

The overall viewership dropped by 21 percent compared to the previous week, with a 13 percent drop in the 18-49 demographic. The first hour of the show, which featured stars like CM Punk, Seth Rollins, and Drew McIntyre, saw the highest viewership at 1.53 million. However, the third hour, headlined by Gunther vs. Finn Balor, experienced a larger than usual drop due to Olympic coverage.

Compared to last year’s week, the show was down 20 percent in viewers but only 3 percent in the 18-49 demographic. Considering the competition and changes in cable subscriptions, the slight decline is notable.
