– AEW’s partnership with Warner Bros Discovery leads to speculation of a media rights deal.

– Current negotiations indicate a potential deal valued at over $110 million annually.

– Tony Khan expresses disappointment with the current offer.

Under the leadership of Tony Khan, AEW has established a significant partnership with Warner Bros Discovery, securing programming slots for popular shows such as Dynamite, Rampage, and Collision. This collaboration has led to speculation about a potential media rights deal, with new estimates suggesting the deal could be worth over $110 million annually.

Warner Bros Discovery has become the home of All Elite Wrestling, providing a platform for its flagship shows. This exclusive partnership was so impactful that it resulted in the discontinuation of AEW Dark on YouTube. Key figures at Warner Bros Discovery, including Zaslav and TNT Sports’ Luis Silberwasser, are keen to retain AEW on TNT and TBS, recognizing the value and popularity of the wrestling content.

Despite the positive aspects of the partnership, Tony Khan has expressed disappointment with the current offer. According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the estimated media rights deal between AEW and Warner Bros Discovery is valued at more than $110 million annually. This figure is significantly higher than AEW’s previous 4-year deal worth $175 million, which averaged just under $45 million per year.

Meltzer reports, “Figures being talked about between WBD and AEW are said to be considerably more than the estimated $110 million per year, or slightly more. That in theory would take AEW into profitable range.” This potential deal could provide AEW with the financial boost needed to achieve profitability, marking a major milestone for the company.

As discussions continue, the timing of an agreement between AEW and Warner Bros Discovery remains uncertain. However, with the potential deal valued at over $110 million annually, it is a substantial figure that could significantly impact AEW’s future. Fans and industry observers will be watching closely to see if AEW and Warner Bros Discovery can agree that satisfies both parties.
