WKRG News 5 caught up with actor Chandler Riggs, known for his role as Carl Grimes on “The Walking Dead,” during Pensacon 2024 at the Pensacola Bay Center.

Chandler Riggs, renowned for portraying Carl Grimes on the acclaimed AMC series “The Walking Dead,” has been delving into various endeavors since he departed from the show six years ago. At Pensacon 2024, Riggs shared glimpses into his post- “Walking Dead” journey, highlighting his involvement in movies and the launch of his own production company.

Despite the demands on his schedule, Riggs expressed his enthusiasm for staying busy, stating, “All my time has been sucked away, which is a great thing. I don’t like to be bored.”

Reflecting on a memorable return to “The Walking Dead” for a background shot, Riggs fondly recalled the experience, emphasizing the significance of being part of the show’s concluding moments.

While discussing missed opportunities, Riggs revealed his audition for the role of Spiderman at the age of 15, which Tom Holland ultimately took. Nonetheless, he found solace in portraying Spiderman in a short fan film with a horror twist.

Looking ahead, Riggs expressed interest in exploring roles within the DC and Marvel realms, expressing his passion for such projects.

With a substantial following on Instagram exceeding 3.4 million, Riggs expressed gratitude for his time at Pensacon, praising the warm reception from event staff and attendees alike.

He remarked, “This is my second time here and I can’t wait to come back,” showcasing his appreciation for the convention’s welcoming atmosphere and dedicated organizers.
