Speaking on Chris Van Vliet’s Insight podcast, Rodriguez recalled seeing Cena live in high school and developing a crush on him. She also remembered buying the inflatable “You Can’t See Me” hands and hearing that he had visited a Whataburger near her hometown.
Rodriguez said her admiration grew as she watched Cena’s career and learned from the way he worked. She described being placed in a Judgment Day storyline with Cena and Dominik Mysterio, then getting to share a major event moment with him, as “very, very mind-blowing.”
“I do remember every single moment I had with him,” Rodriguez said, recalling the opportunity to learn from Cena before lifting him with the Tejana Bomb. She called the experience “so full circle” and said she was grateful to be part of it.
Rodriguez also remembered how fans reacted afterward. People kept telling her, “You picked up John Cena!” and she said she still reminds fans at meet-and-greets that she slammed him.
Judgment Day’s interference helped Dominik defeat Cena for the United States Championship at Survivor Series. Rodriguez is currently the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion.
