Ethan Page defeated Chad Gable to win the Intercontinental Championship in the opening match of the November 2 episode of RAW in Brooklyn, New York.
Gable controlled the early exchanges with his amateur wrestling skills, but Page shifted the momentum by targeting the champion’s neck and upper back. Gable later focused on Page’s leg, driving it into the ring post and following with dragon screws before locking in the ankle lock.
The champion delivered an Olympic Slam onto the announce table and connected with a moonsault and Chaos Theory, but Page kept fighting. Page answered with a cutter and a powerslam from the turnbuckles, bringing the match close to a title change.
Gable applied the ankle lock again, but Page sent him into the turnbuckles and rolled through into an Egoplex for the three-count. The victory ended Gable’s reign and made Page the new Intercontinental Champion.
With Crown Jewel approaching, Page begins his title reign while Gable faces the possibility of pursuing a rematch.
