Gaming Worlds Collide: The Potential of WWE Superstars in UFC Video Games

The combat sports landscape is on the cusp of a seismic shift. With the imminent merger of WWE and UFC, fans are abuzz with speculation about the future of both promotions. One of the most tantalizing prospects? The potential crossover in the world of video games.

While both companies are currently engrossed in their individual projects, the upcoming merger has opened the door to endless possibilities. The question on many fans’ minds: Could we soon see WWE superstars duking it out in the virtual Octagon of a UFC game? Or perhaps MMA fighters stepping into the squared circle of a WWE video game?

EA UFC 5, slated for an October release, is already generating excitement. It is the first release in the series in over three years and boasts a roster featuring legends like Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali, and Fedor. Given these eclectic inclusions, the idea of adding WWE talent to the mix seems plausible.

However, as per insights from Sean Sapp of Fightful, the integration of WWE talent into the UFC game might not be on the immediate horizon. EA UFC developers, eager to explore this avenue, were informed that such discussions would likely only take place post-merger.

It’s intriguing to note that several WWE superstars, including Brock Lesnar, Ronda Rousey, and Bobby Lashley, have MMA backgrounds. Their inclusion in a UFC game would be fitting and provide an authentic gaming experience.

Past editions of the game have surprised fans with unexpected character inclusions, such as basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal. However, while the merger might pave the way for exciting crossovers, fans might have to temper their expectations for now. The dream of controlling Roman Reigns in the Octagon might have to wait.

The WWE-UFC merger heralds a new chapter in combat sports entertainment. The potential for collaboration is vast, from television programming to merchandise and video games. As both entities come together, one thing is certain: fans are in for a treat.
