AEW’s Wardlow Reflects on His Absence from TV and the Impact of Fan Support: A Candid Discussion at Terrificon

Wardlow, a prominent figure in AEW, has been absent from television since the debut of AEW Collision, where he failed to defend the TNT Championship. During an appearance at Terrificon, he opened up about the emotional toll this absence has taken on him.

“So I’ve been off TV for almost a couple of months, and I’ve been very depressed,” Wardlow said. “Wrestling is my everything; it makes me happy.” His previous four matches, all involving the TNT Championship, were against competitors like Jake Hager and Christian Cage. Since losing the title, he has been deemed surplus to requirements, with creative seemingly having no plans for him.

Wardlow’s candid discussion about his feelings and the support he received at Terrificon had a positive impact on him. “Today, I feel like me again for the first time in months,” he told the audience. “So I just want to say thank you guys for coming out because you guys really, really flipped a switch in my mind and my heart that I needed.”
