WWE’s NXT is Gaining Momentum, Aiming to Surpass AEW Dynamite in the 18-34 Demographic – A New Goal Revealed”**
The Wednesday Night Wars may be a thing of the past, but WWE’s internal competition is far from over. The company’s developmental brand, NXT, has set its sights on surpassing some of AEW’s TV numbers, specifically in the 18-34 demographic.
According to wrestling pundit Dave Meltzer, WWE officials have a new goal for NXT. “The NXT weekly TV show is to surpass Dynamite in the 18-34 demographic,” Meltzer reported. NXT’s TV numbers have been stronger than usual lately, drawing over 700,000 viewers and a 0.20 rating in the key demo for the past three weeks.
While NXT didn’t beat AEW Dynamite in the 18-34 demo last week, it came close the week before. The July 25 edition of NXT averaged 703,000 viewers and a 0.23 rating in the key demo, while the July 26 edition of AEW Dynamite averaged 898,000 viewers and a 0.29 rating.
The competition between the two brands continues to heat up, with both sides pushing for supremacy in the wrestling world. Only time will tell if NXT can achieve its goal and outshine AEW Dynamite in the coveted 18-34 demographic.
