Kenny Omega, Adam Page, and The Young Bucks Reaffirm Their Commitment to AEW Amidst Temptations

Four high-profile wrestlers, Kenny Omega, Adam Page, and the Young Bucks, tipped the balance in favor of AEW, marking a significant triumph. The signing, however, was nearly not the case. Bound by a pact, their unanimous decision was a pendulum that swung a few times.

AEW’s Tony Khan masterfully secured The Elite’s commitments weeks prior but chose to unveil the news during Dynamite’s landmark 200th episode. This grand revelation coincided perfectly with WWE’s 2nd quarter financial call, delivering a momentous surprise.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, veteran journalist Dave Meltzer elucidated that the quartet, also known as The Elite, had resolved to stick together, no matter where they ended up. They agreed to Tony Khan’s offer earlier than anticipated, validating Khan’s strategic early revelation.

Interestingly, the team of Omega, the Young Bucks, and Adam “Hangman” Page flirted with the idea of leaving AEW on several occasions, but then “views” evolved.

“The four guys had made a pact that they were going to stick together. Whether it would be in WWE or AEW. They basically had made an agreement that it was gonna be majority rules,” Meltzer shared.

“It had gone back-and-forth, but essentially, whatever it was, three of the four or four of the four, made the deal. But they all had agreed that they were gonna go together as a group, either to WWE, or stay as a group, so it was not gonna be a split up.”

“Views changed. People think that it was like ‘They were never going to go (to WWE)’ or anything like that – there were discussions, there were votes to change, there were things that happened, since this pact was made, and I think this pact was made some time back, but they are gonna be in (AEW).”

After losing Cody Rhodes to WWE, Khan was seemingly determined to avoid more unfavorable headlines. This explains his eagerness to propose generous contracts, the exact figures of which remain undisclosed. Khan evidently paid The Elite a sizable sum to remain in AEW.

Details regarding the term of The Elite’s new contracts with AEW remain confidential. Rumors suggest they are tied down for the next four years, but the truth remains shrouded in secrecy, as dictated by their new agreement.
