Despite Industry Uncertainty, Cody Rhodes and Young Bucks Foster Increased Dialogue
In the ever-evolving landscape of professional wrestling, WWE is keeping a close watch on talent across the industry. However, due to the ongoing antitrust lawsuit with Major League Wrestling (MLW), WWE must tread carefully when engaging with talent contracted with other companies. Individual roster members can maintain personal communications.
As previously reported, The Elite, including Kenny Omega, Young Bucks, and Hangman Page, are expected to remain with All Elite Wrestling (AEW). Cody Rhodes, another notable figure, is also part of this equation, and if anything, he’s been in frequent contact with the Young Bucks.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter highlighted that Cody Rhodes and the Young Bucks are communicating more now than ever before. It was also noted that the forthcoming Cody Rhodes documentary with WWE will feature clips from “Being The Elite.”
The report stated, “Regarding the Young Bucks cooperating with Cody Rhodes on the Peacock documentary and releasing some BTE footage and Rhodes saying they talk regularly, the three actually talk more now than even before.”
The future of the Young Bucks in AEW remains to be seen. They have a lucrative career with Tony Khan’s company, and whether they need or desire to add WWE to their professional journey is still being determined. The wrestling world is full of surprises, and only time will reveal what lies ahead for them.
WWE had previously shown interest in The Elite, including the Young Bucks, but a deal has yet to materialize. Instead, they became Executive Vice Presidents in AEW, with the exception of Hangman Page. It seems unlikely that the situation will change for Nick and Matt Jackson, but it’s reassuring to know they maintain open lines of communication with Cody Rhodes.
