From Relationship Reservations to On-Screen Storylines, Their Journey Shines in and out of the Ring
In the world of WWE, power couples have always captured the attention of fans. Among the many duos, Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins undeniably stand out as a prominent force. However, behind their public relationship, there were initial concerns that tested their dynamic.
Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins may not be the first or the last power couple in pro wrestling history, but they have certainly carved their place in WWE’s current landscape. As multi-time world champions in their respective divisions, their ascension within the company coincided. Their romantic journey began in January 2019, but in April of the same year, their relationship became public knowledge, solidifying their status as a formidable duo.
Speaking candidly to Cosmopolitan UK, Becky Lynch expressed her happiness with how their lives have unfolded. Nevertheless, there were reservations when they first started dating, particularly regarding the public nature of their relationship.
“When I first started dating Seth, I had certain reservations about it being public. Not being public from the standpoint of in case things didn’t work out—I knew fairly early on that he was the one and that there wasn’t a more perfect person for me out there,” Lynch revealed. “But I was worried about us getting involved in a storyline in WWE and how that would be received. Trying to figure out that balance, it was harder for me than it was for him. I often felt awkward, like I’m a certain way in our personal life and then I have to maintain a certain aura and a certain presence in the ring… I did struggle with that.”
Unfortunately, Lynch’s concerns became a reality after WrestleMania 35 when she and Rollins were incorporated into a mixed tag storyline alongside Baron Corbin and Lacey Evans. Reflecting on this experience, Lynch admitted, “Sure enough, we ended up in a storyline in WWE, and it wasn’t the best.”
Their time as an on-screen duo was short-lived. Rollins underwent a heel turn by the end of 2019, while Lynch took a break from in-ring action in mid-2020 when she announced her pregnancy, expecting their first child.
In December 2020, Lynch and Rollins welcomed their daughter, Roux, into the world. The couple later tied the knot in June 2021. With Lynch’s return and both she and Rollins reclaiming their prominent positions in WWE, fans eagerly anticipate whether their paths will intertwine once again.
While the future remains uncertain, it is yet to be seen if WWE will incorporate any storylines involving Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins in the days to come. Nonetheless, their journey as a couple has already overcome obstacles and played out in the wrestling spotlight, solidifying their place as a remarkable power couple both inside and outside the ring.
